My Thoughts

When I think of all that has happened to me in my 38 years of life, I am brought back to the time and place that I received the Holy Ghost. I had already been baptized, 02/19/88, and I just could seem to get the Holy Ghost, not know why I couldn't, it seemed like everyone was getting it but me, I went to the apartment and I asked my roommate, Karen, why is it that God isnt giving me the Holy Ghost, I thought, and i remember her telling me that it was not that GOD didnt want to GIVE me the Holy Ghost it was that I wasnt surrendering ALL to Him, and we were in Revival with Bro Fraley, and I told Karen that Friday Night, I don't care how long it takes me i was getting the Holy Ghost tonight, and when Bro Fraley, was finished with preaching and he asked if any one wanted the Holy Ghost, I did not hesitate, and i went and knelt on the front pew, and I remember praying, and asking GOD what is holding me back from getting the Holy Ghost, and I heard someone say, "you have to give "everything" to GOD" and after all the praying for the 4 months I thought that I had, but I then had remember, I was holding on to just one thing, I told GOD, okay I give you everything, and I meant it. That day was the best day of my life, it was June 23, 1988, and I have only gotten closer to GOD. Have there been tough times, of course, but Sister Wilson told me once, maybe more than once, that nobody said that your walk with GOD would be a bed of roses but you will have someone to help you bear the pain of the thorns, Thank you all for all your prayers, and your encouragement, I love you all,
